Building Bulletin 93: Acoustic Design of Schools
BB93 aims to:
- provide a regulatory framework for the acoustic design of schools in support of Building Regulations
- give supporting advice and recommendations for planning and design of schools
- provide a comprehensive guide for architects, acousticians, building control offices, building services engineers, clients and others involved in the design of new school buildings.
- BB93 provides a comprehensive list of acoustic criteria relating to traffic noise intrusion, services noise control, room acoustics and sound insulation between critical areas and also applies to external teaching areas.
Hunter Acoustics are in a position to provide a comprehensive design service covering BB93 requirements. We also have the experience to negotiate relaxation of design standards with Building Control where appropriate (where allowed under BB93).
