HTM 08-01: Hospitals/Healthcare

Superseding HTM 2045 and hopefully removing some of the confusion between HTM 2045 and HTM 56, this document provides detailed Acoustic specifications for Healthcare facilities covering traffic noise intrusion, separation between rooms (walls, floors, doors etc.), room acoustics and mechanical services noise control.

When assessing privacy between critical areas, the contribution of the background masking noise level from services/traffic noise can be as important as the sound insulation provided by the intervening partition. Hunter acoustics believes it is important therefore to maintain useful masking background noise levels in line with criteria set out in HTM 08-01, and not merely treating those criteria as statements of maximum noise levels.
